Ten years ago, people would snigger and point at drivers of Hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius, and thoughts of actually owning and operating a vehicle as radical as a Tesla Model X where merely dreams that one may have kept to oneself, especially around the Automotive enthusiast communities. But now our thoughts have progressed much like the technology that keeps enabling dreams to push the boundaries of acceptance and creativity, thus giving birth to modern Automotive exotica like the Hybrid Porsche 918 or the lusty Ferrari Laferrari.
We now not only accept these vehicles as the best of the breeds that have ever graced their envious lineage, but we are now on the cusp of the next batch of the Ultra Hypercars like the Mercedes-AMG Project One and the “not sure, how this would be street legal anywhere” Aston Martin Valkyrie, which will be the closest examples of pure unadulterated Formula One technology to ever have hit consumer’s hands.
So what comes next? Everyday ballistic missiles friends is the answer, Porsche has been working back late since the announcement of their Mission-E project back in 2015, to turn pure EV technology into something with a SOUL, that will be the closest thing anyone has created to date, that will enable you to have the undisputed performance of a full Electric Vehicle with the driving characteristics of one of the worlds most successful drivers cars.
Porsche has started to introduce these concepts into many of its offerings over the past couple of years, to ensure that it’s die-hard followers won’t be too surprised when a complete gaggle of EV Mission-E options sit at the tops of their product ranges and in doing so have started to engage many of the hardest people within the community to sit up and take notice. I for one am excited to see the specification of a complete EV 911 and believe once this vehicle establishes the numbers and experience Porsche have been working towards, the entire world will not be able to discredit the EV Revolution, that is well and truly upon us.
